EPT Poker News
The European poker tour, otherwise known as the EPT is a fast moving progressive poker tour. It currently has seven poker tournaments in its schedule. This means it is far smaller than the WPT(internal link), which has been around for a bit longer.

It seems as if the European Poker Tour is going from strength to strength. The main sponsor behind the European Poker Tour is Poker Stars(Aff link). Players like Chris Moneymaker(internal link) and Greg Raymer(internal link) made their starts in this online poker room.
I think it would be fair to say that the European Poker tour has got enormous potential, as we are seeing that online poker is growing faster in Europe at the moment than in anywhere else in the world.
This holds great promise for the European Poker Tournament and any other potential European counter parts/competitors.
Online European poker rooms will also feed off this growth, alongside the larger more established poker rooms. The big potential in the European market is the language specific poker rooms. Currently the main draw back to this is liquidity and with the European poker tour drumming up interests these specialized poker rooms will be coming to the fore more and more.
