Rake Back Poker Is it Worth It?
Ok, there are alot of rake back poker websites out there.
I personally am not a fan of rake back poker websites because I know that it's a schlep to try and get back the $10 that I'm going to be owed every month from playing poker.
Before I go any further I guess I should explain what poker rake back is if you don't already know. In poker there is this little unknown thing called poker affiliate programs. In poker affiliate programs poker websites share a percentage of their poker rake with the affiliates that refer them visitors.
This is all good and well because poker affiliates drive players to the poker websites. Now what has happened is poker rake back has been created by poker affiliates. That's basically poker affiliates sharing their part of the deal back with the poker players they refered, simple enough.
But it begs the questions, why not just not charge a lower rake and cut out the poker affiliates all together. You see, it's not that simple because poker affiliates make up about 40% of most online poker rooms traffic. Don't ask me how I know this, lets just say I've worked in the industry.
Anyway the bottom line is that poker rake back is here to stay whether we like it or not. The only thing that remains to be seen is whether poker rooms play ball with poker affiliates or like in Party Gamings position they try to fight back against this trend.
That been said it's still not been proved whether or not the rake back poker programs can remain to be viable. Big poker affiliates like pokerlistings don't offer poker rake back and prefer to get special deals from the poker rooms to differientate themselves.
