Poker and Smoking
No I’m not speaking about smoking poker or poker smoking, I mean players that like to smoke when they play poker. Thankfully I’m a non-smoker but that may not have been the case in years gone by as pokerrooms use to allow people to smoke in the poker rooms.
I guess it really depends on whether you’re a smoker or a non smoker but I don’t know what it would be like to sit next to someone for a couple of hours as they puffed their way along and player poker. I guess if the opponent was a smoker you could tell something about the cards that would have mean you could read into their hands by how much the exhaled, smoked etc. Patterns emerge under stress right and compulsive smokers enjoy this kind of relaxation when their subjected to this kind of poker stress.
I guess cigarettes are more popular with smokers than cigars but as a non-smoker I have to say that cigars look cooler. In the world of poker looking cool is pretty much an art already. Dark glasses and hats are common place, I wonder what the tour poker world would be like today if the pro’s where allowed to squeeze a drag in between hands. It’s all a matter of perspective I guess and smoking just isn’t my scene.
In the old days all the casino’s allowed smoking in any of the rooms, only now in the current day and age of health conscience environments we now live in does the issue over smoking in a public place make an issue. Home poker games sure have their fair share of cigarette tuggers and maybe the reading of poker players in these games still comes into play.
Come to think about it that’s one of the advantages about playing poker online you don’t have to endure body odors or poker players smoking habits. I guess I also enjoy the act that I can sit in my study and play poker and not have to worry about what I look like or how often I wish to muck around with other things.
I guess you could say that I like fresh air and great poker. I’m not the kind of person to get stuck into a smoke filled poker room and so long may that be the case. Anyways poker online also has many other advantages probably saved for another article but never the less one case say the convenience is a major factor for me. Playing poker around people who smoke is not, enough said about this topic.
