Knowing your The Bluff is a fundamental key to playing poker.

When people first start off playing poker they either over use the bluff or don’t bluff at all. The bluff is one of the most important aspects of a poker players game. If you don’t bluff you won’t get called on your strong hands and if you over bluff you’ll end up losing to much money on being called by good hands.

The poker professionals secret is having the balls to bluff at the right times. Playing with aggression requires that you have a good bluff. It’s not just about raising it’s about knowing how much and how quickly you need to play your bluff. Being able to read your opponents hand strength is also very important.

Too often weak opponents don’t raise strongly enough or don’t raise at all. Getting your opponent to commit to the hand over bow out completely is an art of human persuasion.

Other important aspects to the bluff include position. Making a play with the same hand from a late position is often far stronger than from the early positions. The art is in being able to work your opponents mind over with the correct bet’s and checks.

The late bluff is also an effective weapon that can have disasterous consequenes if you are being slow played. The important thing to note is how your opponents play and adjust your bluff accordingly. Once again playing the man is probably more important that playing the cards.

This is the art of poker and the aggression of the player to make the hard calls. It’s far more important to understand that poker can be played in different ways successfully but the most important thing to remember is to play a game that suites your poker appetite. There will be days and runs of bad luck in poker when you didn’t quite get the read on your opponent right.
