Poker Tilt
Ever wondered if you are losing your mind when you are playing poker? This is called poker tilt. To tilt is to lose control of your emotions and play wildly. It happens to everyone that’s player poker before. You’ve played for too long and you start to push to hard. Tilting is common amongst online poker players who end up playing for hours and hours without taking necessary breaks.
Pokernex strongly suggests you take breaks in your poker play to avoid tilting. It’s important to stop yourself when you feel like your losing control. The natural emotion is to not give a damn and ride it to hard. Common symptoms of people that are going poker tilt is when they push all-in to often with weak hands.
Everyone has done it before, poker is a game of patience and tilting is lose the patience that is so important in playing winning poker.
Tilt is also very common when you lose with good cards to bad cards after playing poker for a while. This tips people over the edge and then they lose control of the tight aggressive game that makes people winners. Lose aggressive players may have lucky streaks but it’s not about how many hands you win it’s about how much money you walk away with.
That’s probably the most important thing you can ever learn about the game of poker, that it’s about making your good hands count and leaving the bad ones. That’s where tilt comes in, it interferes with the poker players ability to let the bad hands go.
Bad beats are another major factor in having people loses their cool. This is when you should theoretically have the best hand but the river card catches a lucky break for your opponent and you lose out.
Some people have a greater propensity to tilt than others, this is all down to how effectively they can keep their mind when the game starts getting competitive. In poker it’s important to be able to through any hand you get dealt away, even if it’s those poker rocket aces. If you believe that there is an opportunity to get beat and you are not exceptionally confident with your hand, then you need to be able to let it go. That’s more difficult than it seems when you first read this, but believe me lay that hand down if your going to play tight aggressive poker.
