It took me a while to get around to T.J. Cloutier's review because I guess I always saw him as a cowboy and I guess that didn’t inspire me. T.J. Cloutier is worth a review though as talent is undeniable.

TJ Cloutier has a remarkable memory for cards and working out people even when he’s not even involved in the hands. TJ Cloutier may not remember your name but he’ll always remember your style and be able to work your weaknesses out from there.

T.J. is considered by some as one of the best tournament players of all time. He has won more than fifty major events with buy-ins of over $500.

TJ is one of the top five of money winners at the World Series of Poker. This includes being placed four times in the top five of the $10,000 Main Event including two second place finishes in the World Series of Poker to Chris Ferguson in 2000 and Bill Smith in 1985. T.J. also has four bracelets for his wins in Omaha in 1987, Pot Limit Hold'em and Omaha 8 or Better in 1994, and Omaha Pot Limit in 1998. He has also placed on the World Poker Tour at the Reno Hilton and the Bicycle Casino. T.J. was schooled as Jefferson High School in Daly City, California where he played basketball, football and baseball. He then went on to the University of California at Berkeley on a baseball and football athletic scholarship. TJ Cloutier then dropped out of college to work to try and help out his father because of some of his mother's medical bills.

TJCloutier drafted into the army where he then started honing his poker skills. When he left the army, he played football for the Montreal Allouettes of the Canadian Football League before being traded to the Toronto Argonauts. His football career was ended by a knee injury, which left him more time to play poker until he started Bets Quality Foods with his father and his brother-in-law. The business didn’t go as well as he was hoping and it put his relationship with his first wife under tremendous strain finally having them split up. TJ Coultier then went to Texas and started working a regular job, playing poker on his spare time.

After a while he started playing poker full-time. Traveling too find poker games. During this time he was introduced to his second wife, Joy and they married in 1984. tj cloutier has also authored four poker books with Tom McEvoy: Championship Tournament Practice Hands, Championship Holdem, Championship Omaha, and Championship No-Limit and Pot Limit Hold'em.
